Jerry Fleishman President of Brawn Mixer
Jerry Fleishman's experience began with Lightnin Mixer in 1981. During that period his responsibilities included the sizing and selection of
mixers and agitators for a broad range of applications including pharmaceutical, food and beverage, paint and coatings, cosmetics and home health
care products, mining, pulp and paper, water, waste-water, and chemical make-up processes. The type of mixers required included top entry, side
entry, portable, static and mechanical in-line mixers.
In 1985 his interest in the field of fluid mixing led him to direct the start-up of a new mixer company, JWI Inc., Mixer Division. Following
the sale of that company in 1993, Jerry went on to become the co-founder and President of a new mixer manufacturer, Brawn Mixer, Inc.
In less than seven years from start-up, Brawn Mixer, Inc. designed, developed and manufactured a product line as extensive
as mixer
companies which have been in business over 60 years.
Today, Jerry is the sole owner of and President of Brawn Mixer. His true passion remains in the field of applications
engineering, where his
career began. His personal philosophy is to provide customers with the best possible
solution to their specific mixing problem or
challenge. Due largely to the belief that mixers should be engineered, designed and built to the specific
application, Brawn Mixer has become a
formidable supplier in a broad range of industries.
Jerry has conducted hundreds of seminars and technical presentations to corporations and engineering firms throughout North America. He is
highly regarded as an expert in the field of fluid mixing.
Jerry Fleishman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology and Engineering from the State University of New York, Buffalo.

Dr. Tom Post - Consultant, Post Mixing Optimization and Solutions
Dr. Post received his Diploma ( MS equivalent) in 1978, and his PhD in 1983, both in Chemical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of
Technology in Zurich.
For his dissertation, Dr. Post worked on "geometrical influences on local and total mass and heat transfer in an agitated tank". The title on
his Diploma thesis was "fluid dynamics of a multi-stage, mechanically stirred column". Upon completion of his PhD studies, Dr. Post joined
SmithKline & French Laboratories in Swedeland, PA as an associate senior investigator. At SmithKline, he was responsible for improving
selectivity and scale-up of new drug projects by utilizing his expertise in mixing and synthetic organic chemistry which resulted in a patent and
yearly cost savings of$1.5million US. He was also the technical leader in the pilot-lab for the scale-up of reactions and purification, and he
introduced batch vacuum distillation to SmithKline.
In 1987, Dr. Post moved to Lightnin, Rochester, NY as senior research engineer where he subsequently rose to the position of VP of mixing technology,
and VP of R&D. He was a member of Lightnin's executive team reporting directly to the president. As VP of mixing technology, he was
responsible for leading Lightnin, the world leader in mixing technology, in discovering new mixing technologies and better uses of existing
technologies. He was also Lightnin's spokesperson on mixing issues at conferences. Dr. Post turned the mixing world upside-down by
industrializing and optimizing up-pumping technology, which has been particularly beneficial for fermentation, hydrogenation, and
crystallizers.
In 2000, Dr. Post established Post Mixing Optimization and Solutions. Through this company, he provides consulting and
specialized services in
optimization of mixing and chemical processes. He presents 3-day C.E. courses and provides consulting services to several companies in the
areas of mining, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and general chemistry.
Dr. Post has over 40 publications, countless presentations, 4 patents, and co-authored one book. His greatest strength is being able to listen and
find solutions to mixing and chemical process problems.

Remember to mark your calender for Tuesday September 25, 2007. Both Jerry Fleishman and Dr. Tom Post will be at Alpart
for
a Technical
Presentation on mixing applications in the alumina process.
This will be a tremendous opportunity to learn more about the science of mixing and how it applies specifically to an Alumina Refinery.
