Meet Flange, The Slurry Guy

Flange, The Slurry Guy, is a seasoned slurry specialist and an excellent instructor. He was born in Louisiana over a lunchtime conversation in some diner. We liked him so much, we named a contest after him.

Flange has experience in many industry segments and extensive knowledge of pump types, accessories, materials and systems operation. He holds an honorary degree from GIW Industries' slurry course, the Transportation Of Solids Using Centrifugal Pumps. (He memorized the course's textbook, "Slurry Transport Using Centrifugal Pumps," written by Dr. Kenneth C. Wilson, Graeme R. Addie, Dr. Anders Sellgren and Dr. Roland Clift.)

His conversation are colorful. He says things like:

"1/2 slant ht. x perimeter + area base = 1/2 h x 2ab + (ab)2."

We just smile and act as if we understand every numeral and letter.
