New cyclone unit mounted above a shaker, which handles the underflow containing solids while overflow is sent back to tank to be repumped downhole. The service is to clean the drilling mud of solids so that it may be reused. Prior to the use of cyclones, all of the mud had to be sent over the screens, thus requiring them to be much larger. Krebs' cyclones concentrate the solids into approximately 20% of the total flow, making the screens and other equipment more efficient and their required size much smaller, less expensive and easier to handle.
